Network Drive Control (NDC) puts a clever spin on the way Microsoft’s Windows operating system maps drives. What it does is it changes the mapping process based on the network you’re connected to. This way, when you’re connected to your home network, certain drives will be mapped, and when you’re connected to your work network, other drives will be mapped.

Network Drive Control requires Windows Vista or newer and a restart. Once you’re done installing in on your Windows P (a process that’s quite easy and doesn’t requite much effort), you will be asked to restart your PC.

The Help file that comes bundled with Network Drive Control clearly states that "before you run NDC and configure it to start mapping your network drives in a network specific manner, you first should verify that you can map the drive through Windows Explorer's "Map network drive" menu selection. If you can't map it through Windows Explorer, you won't be able to map it through Network Drive Controller (NDC). NDC only adds network sensitivity to Windows built in network drive mapping."

The Help file also states that you must instruct Windows to unmap all network drives it is presently configured to try and map upon user login. Network Drive Control won’t be able to do its thing if Windows is set to try and map a drive upon boot or login.

Network Drive Control is free software, meaning you have all the time in the world to figure out how to use it. Once you do, you can use it for as long as you want, without having to part with your hard earned money.

Thanks to Network Drive Control, your PC will map certain drives when you’re on network A and other drives when you’re on network B. It makes Windows’ network drives mapping be network dependent.

Pros

Installing Network Drive Control (NDC) on Windows PC is an effortless task. There’s a detailed Help file that you can turn to if you need help. NDC’s interface is very easy to figure out. NDC makes makes Windows’ network drives mapping be network dependent. NDC is freeware.

Cons

Less experienced users might have a problem getting this software to work.
